Camera surveillance on board
Transdev runs Mälartåg on behalf of Mälardalstrafik. On Mälartåg, camera surveillance is used with fixed vehicle cameras which record moving images. The images are only stored for 72 hours.
When you are traveling with Mälartåg, this means that Mälardalstrafik MÄLAB AB may process your personal data. A prerequisite for it to be personal information is that it will be possible to identify you in the film. Mälardalstrafik MÄLAB AB is the data controller for all processing of personal data.

Purpose
The purpose of camera surveillance is to increase the safety and security of passengers and staff and to reduce the number of threats and violent incidents.
Legal basis
All processing of personal data must have a legal basis in accordance with the General Data Protection regulation. We process your personal data (collection and storage) with the support of a balance of interests as we have a legitimate interest in processing your personal data for the purpose of crime prevention.
When we disclose and submit personal data to the police, we do so as in some cases when we have a legal obligation to do so, for example when the police have initiated a preliminary investigation. In some cases, we also submit personal data to the police on the basis of a balance of interests. This can be, for example, when reporting a crime or when the police are looking for missing persons.
Storage and sorting
The recorded footage is saved in encrypted format on protected devices. After any transfer to the police, the material will be deleted.
All film materials which is not submitted to the police are overwritten or deleted on a continuous basis
If you have been the victim of a crime
If you have been the victim of a crime on board one of our trains, you should immediately file a police report so that they can quickly request recorded material. This has to be done within 24 hours of the crime, otherwise there is a risk that the film material will have been deleted.
